Leading Nutrition NGO in South India - Malnutrition Eradication
Annapoorna Trust, a leading Nutrition NGO in India, currently has its presence in 25 states and 4 Union Territories across India. Among them, South India leads the nation in outreach, currently providing morning nutrition to 53 lakh children in Karnataka and 21 lakh children in Telangana, in collaboration with the state governments. So, overall 74 lakh children across South India are receiving nutritious morning nutrition through Annapoorna Trust and government collaboration.
Every morning, school children who are Annapoorna Trust's Telangana Nutrition Mission beneficiaries receive SaiSure Ragi along with milk as part of our breakfast initiative.
SaiSure is a scientifically formulated health mix that provides essential micronutrients and macronutrients to support the growth and development of children. These nutrients are needed to combat "hidden hunger". Designed by health experts and distributed freely by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, this powerful supplement is a key component of our morning nutrition program for school children across rural India. This not only helps address “hidden hunger” and "classroom hunger", but also contributes to improved attendance, focus, and academic performance in schools.

Today I would like to stress the importance of nutritious food. Most of the children come to school early in the morning, and we are not sure if they had something to eat at home or not. Hence, they are hungry and are always anticipating the mid-day meals. SaiSure Millet Multi Nutrient Health mix provided every day in the morning will give them the required energy and nutrition. Previously, people used to eat only rice. Nowadays people and children are getting to know the importance of millets and energy rich foods. The children need to be habituated to nutritious food and not junk food. Our Honourable Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao gives more priority to government school children. His intention is to provide quality nutritious food to the children studying in Government schools. I am very happy Annapoorna Trust has included SaiSure Millet Multi Nutrient Health mix as part of morning nutrition in Government schools. By joining hands, we are trying to mitigate the problems for the benefit of society.
