ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards 2021, Feb 24th 2022

ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Summit & Awards 2021 was held on 24 Feb 2022, at Taj residency Bengaluru. ASSOCHAM Southern Region organized a second edition to recognize the excellence achieved in various fields such as Livelihood to local community, providing support to Healthcare, Supporting education & skill, Community support for COVID relief, Energy, Waste management, Water conservation, Diversity & Inclusion. Annapoorna Trust was honoured to be the Nutrition Partner in this summit. 

 

 

In this occasion, ASSOCHAM Southern Region felicitated Mr. Prashanth Prakash, Co-Founder and Partner – Accel, Karnataka Startup Vision Group Chairman & Advisor for policy & strategy to CM of Karnataka, as the Social Impact Leader 2021. Ms. Shalini Rajneesh IAS, ACS, Government of Karnataka spoke on the initiative by Government of Karnataka called “AKANKSHA – An Integrated Platform for SDG and CSR Alignment”. 

 

 

Mr. Anand Kadali – Trustee & Secretary, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust provided insights to the audience on the various means of collaborating with Governments and corporate companies in building the nation and making it as a Jana Andolan – People’s movement. He emphasised on the fact that, once our children are provided proper nutrition in their adolescence and growing age, they will be our future assets towards nation building. Current prevailing condition in terms of malnutrition among children is appalling. A lot needs to be accomplished in this direction which requires urgent attention & immediate action. Even though a lot of importance has been given towards primary education by the Governments & corporates, time has now come to give equal emphasis towards nutrition as well. He narrated how a morning nutrition programme in the form of SaiSure – Micronutrient health supplement to school children can make a difference in addressing hidden hunger (which means nutritional deficiency).

 

 

SAP, TCS, L&T, Schneider Electric, Ashok Leyland, Karur Vysya Bank, SBI Life Insurance, Paytm Foundation, ONGC Foundation, NTPC, Tata Capital, Sterlite, ICICI foundation etc received the awards in various categories mentioned above.

 

 

The Hon’ble Minister, Dr C N Ashwath Narayana, who was the chief guest, congratulated all the awardees and in his speech, stressed on the development of urban poor. His speech addressed the focus on systematic implementation of every project in the state and the CSR contribution by various corporate bodies ensures sustainability in every step the government takes.  Dr Ashwath Narayana C N also visited the “SaiSure – Micronutrient health supplement stall” which was setup at the event premises. Finally, we thank Mr. Abhishek R. – Chairman, ASSOCHAM CSR & Sustainability Committee and Mr. BV Naidu – Chairman ASSOCHAM, Southern & Karnataka State Development council for providing  opportunity to Annapoorna Trust to share insights on combating malnutrition in growing children.
