Cisco India Philanthropy Team Visits Sathya Sai Grama for a Day of Volunteering and Engagement

On December 6, 2024, Annapoorna Trust had the pleasure of hosting the Cisco India Philanthropy Team at its headquarters in Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli.

The team, led by Pavan Nelson Dsouza and Jitendra Kumar Patel and nearly 70 enthusiastic Cisco employees, spent a fulfilling day engaging in various activities.

The day began with a Welcome Address and Presentation at Ataee Shaw Hall, Rajeshwari Block, where the visitors were introduced to the diverse initiatives undertaken by the Sri Madhusudhan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission. The presentation highlighted the impactful work carried out in the three critical domains of Health, Nutrition, and Education, showcasing how these efforts are transforming and improving lives across communities.

Health

Following a refreshing tea break, the Cisco team embarked on a guided Campus Tour in two buses, visiting key facilities that reflect the mission’s commitment to service and excellence. The tour included the Sarla Memorial Hospital, a fully free-of-cost hospital providing quality healthcare, Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, the auditorium, the world-class cricket stadium, Shankar Vanam, and the SaiSure Nutraceutical Facility, where the nutritious SaiSure Health Mix is manufactured.

Education

The visit also featured interactive sessions between the male employees and students at the boys’ campus. The Cisco team engaged with the children, who showcased their diverse talents and interests. During this time, employees served lunch and conducted an awareness and educational session for the boys at the hostel, which the children thoroughly enjoyed and actively participated in.

Nutrition

A highlight of the visit was the experience at the SaiSure Nutritional Facility, where Cisco employees enthusiastically donned PPE kits and actively engaged in the production and packaging of the SaiSure Fortified Health Mix. This health mix, which plays a vital role in Annapoorna’s nutrition programs, is specially formulated to combat malnutrition and provide essential nutrients to the 1 Crore Government School children across 25 States and 4 Union Territories.

During the tour, employees were guided through the entire production process, from the careful selection of high-quality ingredients to the precise blending and fortification of the mix. They learned how the ingredients are sourced, processed, and packed to ensure nutritional integrity and safety.
The hands-on involvement allowed the team to connect deeply with the mission.

Central Kitchen

They also took part in activities such as preparing snacks and dinner at the Centralized Kitchen, working alongside the kitchen staff and gaining valuable insight into the large-scale food preparation process. Employees joined in vegetable cutting, experiencing the effort required to prepare nutritious meals that nourish thousands of children daily in campus.

These activities highlighted the dedication of Cisco employees to community welfare.

The day concluded with heartfelt interactions with the students, leaving a lasting impression on both the employees and the young learners.

This visit exemplified the power of collaboration between corporates and social organizations in creating meaningful change. Annapoorna Trust looks forward to working closely with Cisco to further its mission of improving lives through nutrition, education, and health.
