Launch of Annapoorna breakfast program in Jillalguda in Telangana, April 21st 2022

Annapoorna Trust launched the morning nutrition programme on 21-Apr-2022 for school going children in ZPHS, Jillelguda, Meerpet Municipal Corporation near Hyderabad in Telangana. The occasion was graced by Honourable Minister of Education in Telangana government, Ms. Sabitha Indira Reddy who is also MLA of Maheshwaram assembly constituency, Ms. Sarala SA – Headmaster ZPHS Jillelguda, teachers & students. Mr. Anand Kadali – Trustee & Secretary, Mrs. Padma Radhika – Donor relationship manager, Mr. Dhananjay Rao Ejapu – Manager in Marketing & Digital communication were representing Annapoorna Trust.

The launch will start with morning nutrition being served to 300 students studying in class 10. From the beginning of the next academic year, as many as 10,000 children across various government schools from adjacent areas in Maheshwaram constituency will receive daily morning nutrition as well.

This launch is expected to not only nourish the children with much needed micro nutrients etc. but also help keep morning classroom hunger at bay.

Ms. Sabitha also spoke on the occasion, “Our Honourable Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao gives more priority to Government school children. His intention is to provide quality nutritious food to the children studying in Government schools. Post formation of Telangana state, we have been provided good quality rice for the benefit of government hostels & schools.

The Central Government facilitates mid-day meals for students up to standard 7. Our CM has extended it to standard 10 on state government expense. There are total of 26 lakh students getting benefited. Happy to note that non-governmental organization like Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust have come forward to serve morning nutrition to children free of cost. Annapoorna Trust is currently serving morning nutrition in 21 states & 3 union territories benefiting more than 500,000 children. In our state, they are serving more than 40,000 children. Going forward 10,000 more children in my Maheshwaram constituency would also be receiving breakfast. 

Starting from Jillelguda, Annapoorna Trust would serve free morning nutrition to other mandals nearby such as Belapur, Tukkuguda, Kothapet, Raviryal, Maheshwaram, Kandakurthi, Amangal and Kadthal. This initiative would be running full-fledged from the upcoming academic year. We are very much thankful to Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust”.
