Morning nutrition launch at Alwal – Telangana on
06-Apr-2022

As part of the expansion of Annapoorna Morning nutrition, 06-Apr-2022 was memorable for getting started morning nutrition to Government school going children in Alwal taluk of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. This region comes under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. This was an event hosted by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust and White Volunteers Foundation in the presence of local government officials.

Shanthi Srinivas Reddy – Alwal division corporator was the chief guest for the event held at Zilla Parishad Girls High School (ZPHS). Other dignitaries who were part of the event were Latha Maraveni – White Volunteers Foundation President, Pravalika – White Volunteers Foundation Vice President, Sandhya Rani – School principal, Aravind – TRS Party member, teachers & school students. From Annapoorna Trust, Santosh Allath – National Manager, Pradeep Kumar – Telangana state co-ordinator, Srinivas – Businessman & volunteer, Dhananjay Rao Ejapu – Manager in Marketing & Digital communication were present.

Santosh Allath – National Manager Annapoorna Trust also spoke on the event as, “I thank Shanthi Srinivas Reddy – Alwal division corporator, White volunteers’ foundation President & Vice President and all dignitaries for making free morning nutrition launch successfully at Alwal. Free morning nutrition was started initially for 50 children at Doddabale village in Bangalore. Like minded volunteers were providing breakfast to children in the morning & then going to their work. This expanded to more than 10,000 children where morning nutrition was provided in the form of breakfast, cookies, banana, milk or biscuits. When we started approaching Government officials, they gave the idea of providing a nutrition supplement to rural school going children. Annapoorna Trust with the guidance and support from Nutritionists, Doctors came up with Our Own Multi Nutrient Health Supplement called SaiSure. This alleviates hunger, increases attention span, and improves the academic and health profiles of the children.
Currently we are serving more than 400,000 children in the state of Karnataka. In the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh cooked breakfast has been provided along with SaiSure. As of today, Annapoorna Trust is now serving more than 500,000 children having presence in 22 states & 3 Union Territories.”
Shanthi Srinivas Reddy – Alwal division corporator spoke on the occasion as, “I pay my humble respects to Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust & White Volunteer foundation for having come forward to provide free breakfast to Government school going children. Some days before, when they came and approached me to provide details of the new launch, I was elated. The main reason is that these children come from economically weaker sections of the society with their parents having to go to labour work early in the morning. Most of these children come to school without breakfast. This initiative is helping the children to have a good breakfast.”

Corporator, White volunteer & Annapoorna Trust officials handed over the breakfast packets to all the children assembled. Morning nutrition will be provided in the form of Ragi Jawa every morning to more than 2915 students across 12 schools in Alwal.
