Meet with Secretary of Education & Mid-day meal director in Lakshadweep Union Territory , 9 May 2022
On Monday, 09 May 2022, Annapoorna Trust officials had a fruitful discussion with regards to Launch of morning nutrition with A Vikrant Raja IAS – Secretary for Education & Rakesh Singhal DANICS – Director for Mid-Day meal in the Union territory of Lakshadweep which is India’s smallest Union Territory. This island consisting of 36 islands with an area of 32 sq. km. The capital is Kavaratti, and it is also the principal town of the UT.
Representing Annapoorna Trust were Santosh Allath – National Manager & Jaya Krishnan – Kerala state co-ordinator. Santosh showed to the government officials the MOUs which are already signed with various state governments across the country where morning nutrition is been provided to Govt school going children since the last 5 years by Annapoorna Trust. Both the parties agreed to start the SaiSure multi nutrient health mix as a pilot for 1500 government school going children in Kavaratti Island.
The officials were quite convinced & happy with the presentation from Trust end and were looking forward for the launch. They also conveyed that, they would take this matter forward with Lakshadweep Island administrator Praful Patel for formal approval, post which launch date would be announced shortly. Looking forward for the launch in this beautiful island of our nation.
