From Classrooms to Campuses: Taking Nutrition Forward
Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust has extended its nutrition initiative to higher education with the launch of the SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix Nutrition Programme at Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College, Anjaneya Nagar, Belagavi.
The programme, launched on 16 September 2026, will benefit 1,641 girl students pursuing degree programmes at the college, which is a constituent college of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi.
The initiative marks a significant step in extending nutrition support beyond school education and towards young adults during an important phase of their academic and personal development.
Supporting Nutrition Beyond the School Years
Nutrition plays an important role throughout the educational journey. As students transition into higher education, maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet can complement their academic pursuits and overall well-being.
Under the programme, students will receive SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix, a ragi-based nutritional supplement that combines the goodness of traditional millet with essential macro and micronutrients, helping complement their regular diet and nutritional intake.
The programme seeks to complement the students’ regular diet while encouraging healthy nutritional practices and supporting their overall health and well-being.
Ragi, a traditional millet widely consumed in India, is known for its nutritional value and has long been part of traditional diets.
Through the inclusion of a nutrient-rich food supplement in their routine, the programme aims to make nutrition a meaningful part of the students’ educational journey.
The beneficiaries of this programme are 1,641 girl students of Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College.
Continuing the Annapoorna Mission
Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust has been working towards ensuring that children do not have to begin their school day hungry. Through its Morning Nutrition Programme, the Trust provides nutritional support to millions of government schoolchildren across India.
The SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix initiative at Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College takes this commitment a step further extending the reach of nutrition support to students pursuing higher education.
The initiative reflects the belief that education and nutrition go hand in hand, and that nourishing young minds can contribute to a healthier and more empowered generation
