Relief brought to Kovilanchery inmates & other regions in Chennai in collaboration with Danirasa foundation – August 2020

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust had its volunteers give away compact grocery hampers to the families of students studying in the government school at Kovilanchery, Chennai. As the covid pandemic had hit hard, rendering the poor jobless and therefore struggling to make ends meet, these hampers replete with rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, sugar and essential spices, all requirements for a month were distributed to needy families.

By giving the under-privileged health and nutrition we are safeguarding the future of the Nation. The continuous lock-down, month after month in Chennai made earning even a meagre salary exceedingly difficult for the poor. The consequences of this could have been grave, growing children from this unfortunate stratum of society, were going to bed hungry. This is where Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust along with Danirasa foundation packed essential dry food grains like rice, lentils, cooking oil and spices every month to distribute amongst these needy families. This went a long way in preventing starvation during these pandemic times.
