Partnership with Persistent Foundation in support of SAM & MAM Children
Persistent Systems an Indian Multinational Technology Services Company based in Pune has been committed to driving social change for decades. The Persistent Foundation est. in the year 2009 focused on nurturing communities through sustainable solutions in several critical areas such as Health, Education, etc.
Since 2021, the Persistent Foundation and the Annapoorna Trust have collaborated to improve child nutrition, focusing specifically on Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) children in Karnataka & Telangana states.
Why is SAM and MAM a threat to the Human Race?
Malnutrition is a silent threat that is under-reported. Undernutrition occurs when not enough essential nutrients are consumed. It proves to result in stunted growth, wasting, and underweight. Not only that, but it can also silently weaken the immune system and children can have trouble fighting diseases and infections.
Annapoorna Morning Nutrition Program Grows in Leaps
It is a great pleasure to announce that the Persistent Foundation and the Annapoorna Trust have successfully expanded their partnership this year 2024, to support four new taluks: Chikkaballapur, Sidlaghatta, Chintamani, and Gowribidanur. This initiative will provide support to 1,500 children, where SaiSure Choco Malt will be provided to SAM & MAM children for the next 6 months.
Launch in Chintamani – 1st August
On August 1, 2024, the inaugural launch among the four taluks took place at the Women and Child Development Office in Chintamani Taluk. The event was a heartening sight, attended by mothers accompanied by their children. One of the primary causes of malnutrition is a lack of awareness about proper nutrition. By educating the mothers about how SaiSure Malt meets the nutritional needs of their children they can now be sure that the children’s daily nutritional needs are taken care of.
The event was held in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Sri Mahesh Babu (Child Development Project Officer), Sri Bassappa Manjesh (Taluk Health Officer for Chintamani Taluk), and Smt. Parvathamma (Assistant Child Development Project Officer for Chintamani Taluk)
Launch in Chikkaballapura – 3rd August

The event took place in the esteemed presence of Smt. Vidya, (the Child Development Project Officer for Sidlaghatta Taluk) and Smt. Laxmi Devamma (the Assistant Child Development Project Officer), both from the Department of Women & Child Development.
Launch in Gowribidanur – 8th August
On August 8th, at the Manchenahalli Center-2 in Gowribidanur Taluk, a touching moment unfolded as young children were served SaiSure Choco Malt by their mothers. The children relished each sip and showed their happiness by the end of their cups. The event’s official inauguration featured mothers and their children lighting the ceremonial lamp, with the ceremony graced by dignitaries including Sri Ravi Kumar (the Child Development Project Officer for Gowribidanur Taluk) and Dr. Naveen Kumar from the Government Hospital in Gowribidanur Taluk.

Rajiv R – Regional Manager also accompanied on behalf of the Trust.
Conclusion
These launches are clear examples of the impact that can be achieved when the sarkāra (government), samāja (society), and sansthā (organization) unite their efforts. It can translate into a mighty change.
In conclusion, we eagerly anticipate the continuation and strengthening of our partnership with Persistent Foundation. By working together, we aim to expand our reach and impact, ultimately benefiting many more children.
