Relief for needy families in Thubarahalli slum, Whitefield, Bengaluru – March 2020
The families of children studying in a government school in Thubarahalli, Whitefield, who are construction workers residing in slum dwellings were provided with groceries to help them during the lockdown period. The volunteers, on enquiry found out that the construction workers did not have their daily jobs due to nationwide lockdown (to tackle spread of COVID-19). About 17 needy families were benefited. The volunteers also surveyed a much larger requirement in the area and got into swift action to help 125 more needy families. Within a day’s time, groceries were sourced and distributed to these needy families.
