Heartfelt stories of Transformation in children from Morning Nutrition program, Bengaluru – March 2016

Morning breakfast has made a powerful impact on overall health of the children. In a school in Kandavara village, children were seen bubbling with energy and full of life. They owe it to regular morning breakfast provided every day by the Annapoorna volunteers. The children who were always late to school transformed themselves to be on-time and with regular attendance.

With nutrition and good health, their budding dreams will be nurtured and their talents will be shared with the world.

A boy, Arvind from Doddabele village shared his heartfelt journey of being a recipient of breakfast seva. Inspired by the humility and love of the volunteers, his life was completely transformed after he got admission in Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam, Mandya to pursue his education, free-of-cost. Today, Arvind has learnt discipline, devotion through bhajan singing, dedication, selfless service and other human values.

A simple morning breakfast has led to an enormous transformation in this boy. With one child at a time, transformation of the world is absolutely certain.

Arvind had expressed his willingness to join our Nutrition Mission on his own post completion of his studies.

Real transformation is that he is now working as our colleague in Annapoorna Trust. A very proud moment for all of us.

Is Annapoorna just a breakfast programme? Certainly not. It is much more than that.

Meghna’s story stands testimony to this. This young girl hailing from Doddabele village, where Annapoorna Breakfast program first started under a tree in 2012, shared about the impact this program has had on her family, how she became a topper in her class and ambitions of becoming a top performing student, and transformation in her own character by cultivating devotion and values of serving, sharing etc.
