CSR Circle of Honour to Volvo
๐ CSR Circle of Honour 2025 ๐
This evening, at the One World One Family โ World Cultural Festival, we were honoured to confer the CSR Circle of Honour 2025 upon Volvo Group India, recognising its exemplary commitment to nation-building through social responsibility and sustainable impact. The award was received by G. V. Rao, Director โ CSR & External Industry Affairs, who has been associated with Volvo since its inception in India in 1997, completing 28 years of dedicated service.
Beyond its global leadership in transportation and infrastructure, Volvo Group India has consistently extended its mission to serve society. During the COVID-19 pandemic, its โVaccination on Wheelsโ initiative played a critical role in delivering healthcare services to remote and underserved regions. In partnership with our institutions, Volvo has also enabled morning nutrition for over 10,000 government school children across Hoskote, Devanahalli, and Nelamangala taluks of Bengaluru Rural District for the past two years.
Volvo Group Indiaโs commitment spans across education, healthcare, and community development. The organisation has supported the establishment of Mini Science Centres at Sriniketanam Girlsโ Campus (2022), Sharda Niketanam Boysโ Campus (2023), and Gulbarga Campus (2024), along with the installation of Smart Boards at the Hassan Campus. Further strengthening healthcare infrastructure, Volvo has pledged support for the education of a medical student for five years and is contributing to the installation of a medical oxygen plant at the hospital complex. Employee-led initiatives, including a blood donation drive at the Volvo Hoskote factory, where over 60 employees donated blood, reflect a deeply embedded culture of compassion.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. G. V. Rao expressed gratitude for the recognition and shared that Volvo Groupโs association with the Prashant Balamandari Trust, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, and Sri Madhusudan Sai Group of Institutions over the past three years has been deeply inspiring. He acknowledged the opportunity to contribute across the three core pillars of morning nutrition, healthcare, and education, and thanked Sadguru and the entire team for enabling meaningful participation in this service journey.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Volvo Group India for its vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the service of humanity. Partnerships such as these reaffirm the belief that responsible leadership and purposeful action can create lasting social impact.
