Nearly 1000 children in Centre Primary School (CPS) in Silvassa will receive SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health mix along with milk powder. A measure of health parameters like height, weight, and haemoglobin under the health profile test for 969 students of CPS Silvassa school was noted by Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), which operates under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. This is a case study that is done to study the impact of the health mix, and hence one test is conducted prior to the launch of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix and one more, 3 months post the launch.

SaiSure is a malt-based multi-nutrient supplement, specifically designed for the growth of children. It meets the protein, vitamin, and mineral requirements and is designed to meet 50% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of most of the Micro-Nutrients like iron, calcium, etc. It is easily scalable and is well received by children due to its delicious taste. The marked improvements post consumption of SaiSure in children, besides improved health parameters, is multi-fold, some of it being a reduction in the drop-out rate of children and an increase in punctuality and attendance, thereby resulting in better academic performance.

The launch event took place in Centre Primary School, Silvassa, in the presence of Mr. Jayesh Bhandari – District Education Officer, Ms. Sheetal Rose – Assistant Head Mistress of CPS, along with other teachers, and Mr. Santosh Allath – National Manager of Annapoorna Trust.

Addressing the gathering at the launch event, Mr. Santosh Allath, the National Manager of Annapoorna Trust, spoke about Annapoorna Trust currently serving nearly 1.2 million children in various government schools across the entire country. Mr. Jayesh Bhandari, the District Education Officer, urged the children to consume this health mix every day and further explained that it would improve the cognitive abilities of the children alongside several other health benefits. “We have started with one school now. We will expand to many other schools shortly,” he said. Mr. Jayesh Bhandari, in spite of his busy schedule, attended the launch event and played a key role in selecting this school.

Setting a child on a proper course with good daily nutrition and the ability to attend and succeed in school is our collective social responsibility and one which will go a long way in nation-building.
