Trelleborg and Annapoorna Trust Unite to promote Education through Nutrition
In a wonderful example of what collaboration can achieve, Trelleborg, which is a Global engineering Group with headquarters in Sweden, collaborated with Annapoorna Trust to take a meaningful step forward in promoting education through child nutrition.
On June 18, 2025, representatives from Trelleborg, Ms. Bindu Vishwanath, Director HR, and Ms. Lakshmi Tulasi, Asst Manager, HR & Admin, and Ms. Sujatha from Prosocial sector visited the Sathya Sai Grama headquarters of Annapoorna Trust.
Vehicle Handover
The highlight of the event was the formal handover of a dedicated nutrition distribution vehicle — an Ashok Leyland Light Commercial Vehicle — which will help Annapoorna Trust expand its Morning Nutrition Program, particularly in rural schools. Mr. Ashish, Trustee of Annapoorna Trust, along with staff and other members, were present during the handover ceremony to mark this significant milestone.
After that, Ms. Bindu Viswanath and Ms. Lakshmi Tulasi visited the SaiSure Nutraceutical Factory to gain a deeper understanding of how Fortified SaiSure Ragi and Malt are prepared. The nutritious SaiSure is served to over 1 crore children across 25 states and 4 Union Territories in India.
They were deeply impressed by the wide range of benefits that children derive from the Morning Nutrition Program. These benefits go far beyond education and also addresses hunger and hidden hunger.
They saw how this simple, yet impactful initiative leads to better focus, improved academic performance, higher attendance, and more school enrollments. Trelleborg’s strong emphasis on education aligns well with Annapoorna’s belief that good nutrition is key to quality learning. The discussion brought out a strong synergy between both teams, especially around the idea of Trelleborg sponsoring schools in a specific region.
