In the event, Smt. P. Sabitha Indra Reddy – Hon’ble Education Minister of Telangana began her speech by saying, “Firstly, I thank Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust for undertaking service activities in the state of Telangana.” She then went on to say that there had been a substantial progress in all the streams, especially in the education sector, since the last 8 years in the state, which she said had always been close to her heart since only children from weaker sections of society came to Government schools. “Our Honourable Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao did everything possible during the COVID pandemic for the benefit of children in spite of many challenges,” she said. Enabling the children to learn through Doordarshan – Prasar Bharati in the initial period, she mentioned that after COVID subsided, the state encouraged the children to attend school free of any fear of the pandemic. She also appreciated the teachers and said that they led from the front by setting themselves as examples and due to all these efforts, Telangana was placed first in Digital Enabled Teaching.

She further expressed her gratitude to Annapoorna Trust and said, “I wholeheartedly thank Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust for providing morning nutrition in the form of Raagi Jawa. Nalgonda constituency has always led from the front for these kinds of good initiatives. Our CM, Sri K Chandrashekhar Rao has bigger plans of providing good education by means of ‘Mana Ooru Mana Badi’ Programme in the state of Telangana. The programme aims at all round development and creation of effective basic infrastructure in schools across the State. Due to the interest shown by ZPTC & MPTC teachers, number of children attending schools have also increased. Parents are also showing keenness in sending their children to Government schools.”

“Now that Annapoorna Trust is keen to expand its services in the state of Telangana, there is so much to be done,” she stated. “By joining hands, we are trying to mitigate the problems for the benefit of society.” Lastly, she gave an assurance that the Government is always eager to support the needy people.

Mr. Anand Kadali – Secretary & Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust addressed the gathering by saying Annapoorna Morning Nutrition Programme started initially in the year 2012 by serving 50 children and has now grown to serving more than 500,000 children in 22 states and 4 Union territories. He said, “During the CORONA times, schools were shut. We made sure children, parents, teachers and cooks were provided dry rations to make their ends meet. Now that COVID has subsided & schools reopened, we are restarting Morning Nutrition in the form of Raagi Jawa, Cooked Breakfast, SaiSure multi nutrient health mix etc based on the need, requirement & local palate.” He further explained that the nutrition provided in the morning would enable children to concentrate more on their academics. “We are extending this program in the districts of Bibinagar, Yadadri Bhongir, Rajanna Sircilla, Jagatial Karimnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Siddipet, Alwal, Malleshwaram, Champapet & Asifabad. Whenever we have volunteers in place, we are reinitiating the program with the support of Government officials,” he added. Aligning with the 3S model, Sarkara (Government), Samaja (Society) & Sanstha (Organisation), he said the Trust works methodically and systematically. Accompanied by the Trust members, Mr M Prabhakar Gupta, Mr. Jayaprakash Tallam and Mr. Sai Prasad to start this program and further, with the support of the education minister, Smt. Sabitha Indra Reddy, he said, the Trust looks forward to serving more children in the state of Telangana.
