Morning Nutrition Program Launched in Birbhum, West Bengal for Tribal Children

Inspiring Partnership Between Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust and Vidya Jyoti UK
On 7th June 2025, a significant milestone was achieved in the journey towards holistic development and nutrition for tribal communities in West Bengal. The Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, in collaboration with Vidya Jyoti UK, launched the Morning Nutrition Program in Birbhum district, marking a new chapter of service and support for underserved communities.
This initiative will benefit 700 tribal students across 10 study centres operated by the Nayantara Memorial Charitable Trust, a foundation dedicated to the education and upliftment of tribal populations in the region. Each student will receive a daily serving of SaiSure Ragi Multi-Nutrient Health Mix blended with jaggery, offering a vital nutritional supplement during the critical growing years.

Finger Millet, widely known as Ragi, is one of the most nutritious cereal grains. It is rich in essential macronutrients—carbohydrates, proteins, dietary fibre, and healthy fats—as well as micronutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and vital minerals like calcium and iron. Particularly for growing children, Ragi is known to significantly support bone development and overall immunity, making it a natural choice for the Morning Nutrition Program.
As part of its initiative, Vidya Jyoti UK is also supporting the Morning Nutrition Program in Telangana, further extending its vision of service and sustainable impact across India.
The Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Vidya Jyoti and all its Trustees and partners for their unwavering commitment to the welfare of children and underserved communities. Together, this collaboration promises not just better health, but a brighter future for hundreds of young lives.
