Launch of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix to Government School Children in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, 15th July 2022

On 15th July 2022, Launch event of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix took place at Shri Surat Public Gujarati Middle School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur. A total of 1000 children in 9 government schools would be part of this project wherein SaiSure multi nutrient health mix with milk will be provided as part of morning nutrition.

 

The event took place in the presence of Chief Guest Ms. Nishu Kumari – Regional Education officer (REO), Dr Maheshwar Prasad – Retd Civil Surgeon, Jamshedpur along with Headmaster, teachers & students. Seniors & volunteers representing Annapoorna Trust from Jharkhand were Babu Lal Singh, Subba Rao, Rajashekhar, Ashwin Chhabra, Sridhar Raju, Rakesh Kumar & Akhilesh Kumar. Mr. Subhajit Roy Mukherjee – Regional Coordinator West Bengal who is also Founder & Project Lead of Sri Sathya Sai Arogya Vahini Trust & Mr. Chandan Kumar – Regional Manager Bihar & Jharkhand represented Annapoorna Trust.

 

On this day of launch, the children were given SaiSure. Each child would be given 15 gms of SaiSure with 100 ml of milk all 6 days a week. Case study would also be taken up to study the impact of SaiSure on the children’s health & growth. A medical team from Arogya Vahini, West Bengal who were present during the launch took note of vital health parameters like height, weight, and blood samples of select set of children were collected. Post 3 months, similar exercise would be taken up to know the progress.

 

POSHAN Abhiyaan or National Nutrition Mission is the Central Government’s flagship program to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. This overarching scheme directs the attention of the country towards the problem of malnutrition. In line with POSHAN Abhiyaan, Annapoorna Trust targets reducing under-nutrition, stunting, anaemia among young children. Annapoorna programme, just as it is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, is playing a leading part in furthering the cause of National policies related to addressing malnutrition and hunger, thereby building the Nation through Nutrition.

 

Ms. Nishu Kumari – Regional Education officer (REO) on this occasion spoke as follows, “Health and education are complementary to each other. With the support from Sri Sathya Sai Annapurna Trust, the health parameters of the children of our region will improve and they will also be able to study diligently. This kind of large mission can succeed only with teamwork. The teachers at the school have a major role in making this mission a success.”

 

Retired Civil Surgeon Dr Maheshwar Prasad, who specially participated in the meeting, inspired the students to study diligently and become better human beings. He also told that, good personal hygiene is one of the most effective ways to protect ourselves and others from many illnesses & educated the masses about the importance of cleanliness.

 

Mr. Subhajit Roy Mukherjee of Arogya Vahini Trust who came from Kolkata for the launch of Morning Nutrition program told that, “The only objective of taking the mission of Sathya Sai Baba to every nook and corner of our country is to establish a healthy and well-educated society. If our children are well-nourished, then the future of our country will be strong. When the institution, society, and government work together, then success is definitely achieved and the country progresses.”
