A Day of Celebration and Nutrition: Honourable Home Minister’s Visit to Sathya Sai Grama on the occasion of Annual Sports Day 2024-25

The Annual Sports Day at Sathya Sai Grama was filled with excitement and celebration. The event was graced by the Honourable Home Minister of Karnataka Sri G. Parameshwara as the Chief Guest for the event, alongside our esteemed founder and chairman, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai.

This special event also marked a significant milestone—one year of partnership between the Karnataka State Government and the Annapoorna Trust in providing SaiSure Millet (Ragi) Multi Nutrient Health Mix to 55.6 lakh schoolchildren through the Ksheera Bhagya Program. This initiative, launched last year at Vidhana Soudha in the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister Karnataka Sri. Siddaramaiah and Education Minister Sri. Madhu Bangarappa has already had a remarkable impact on child nutrition across the state.

The Honourable Home Ministers addressed the students and guests assembled at the Premamrutham hall. During his talk, he lauded the Annapoorna Trust’s Morning Nutrition Program saying that this is not an ordinary program.

He highlighted the transformative power of providing nutritious ragi malt to children, emphasizing its potential to reduce malnutrition and improve health, school attendance, and academic focus.

He shared plans to personally speak to the Chief Minister about the possibilities of the program’s inclusion as a permanent government initiative alongside the midday meal and Ksheera Bhagya milk schemes. The Minister also expressed his hope to arrange a visit for the Chief Minister to visit Sathya Sai Grama.

Revered Sadguru then took the stage, delivering an inspiring message on perseverance and courage. “Winners never quit, and quitters never win,” he declared, urging students to adopt determination in the face of challenges. His words echoed the core values of the institution.

Sadguru also highlighted the vital role of local farmers from Tiptur in Tumakuru district. These farmers supply the ragi used in the fortified health mix, which is processed and distributed to around one crore children across the country. This locally sourced nutrition initiative is a shining example of how community collaboration can drive meaningful change.

Sadguru also conveyed SaiSure Ragi Fortified Health Mix is being provided to children of Sree Siddagangaa Math since many years. Sadguru emphasized that such programs are made possible through collaborative efforts between government, social, and spiritual leaders—underscoring the essence of progress and unity in a nation as vast as India.

The event concluded with a sense of optimism and purpose, leaving the audience inspired by the shared vision of a healthier, better-nourished future for every child.
