Likewise, on May-29, Volunteers of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, in collaboration with Danirasa Foundation & support from Micro Focus, continued providing dry ration, lunch and dinner to the needy families at Avadi, Tambaram, OMR, Puddukotai, Karur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore regions in Tamil Nadu.

Nutrition drive in Sivakasi was launched by Annapoorna volunteers on May-29 by visiting covid-19 care centres in ESI Hospital and Mepco Engineering college in the presence of a Medical Officer. More than 100 patients were given protein mix along with dry fruits.

Our volunteers identified a nomadic group of needy 26 families in Cuddalore and provided them with grocery kits. The families, currently based in Thonithuri village in Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu for the last 3 years, eke out their living by picking and selling used bottles. This timely effort of the volunteers identifying these struggling families and helping them with their daily needs is laudable.

Also, on 08-June, grocery kits were distributed to needy families in various Annapoorna beneficiary schools in Krishnagiri district and in Madurapakkam area in Tamil Nadu. These families’ livelihoods have been affected gravely in the pandemic.

On 13-June, volunteers of Sri Sathya Sai Sevamrutham, Sivakasi once again came forward to distribute rice bags and vegetables to 30 families. Children of these identified families were studying in Anni Illam School, which is one of the Annapoorna Breakfast Seva Programme school beneficiaries.

Lastly on 27-June, Annapoorna Trust distributed dry ration kits to families of children studying at Gopinathanpatti school in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu.
