Inauguration of Morning Breakfast Programme at ZPHS Thorlikonda, Nizamabad District in partnership with Rise Against Hunger – India
The Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, with the kind support of Rise Against Hunger India, inaugurated the Morning Breakfast Programme for Government School Students on 15 November 2025 at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Thorlikonda, Jakkampally Mandal, Nizamabad District, Telangana.
The programme was inaugurated by the District Education Officer, Mr. P. Ashok, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The programme was organised in coordination with the Mandal Education Officer, Jakkampally, school headmasters and staff of Primary Schools and ZPHS Thorlikonda, the Village Development Committee, and village elders.
Along with the launch of the Morning Breakfast Programme, the event also marked the inauguration of a Science Laboratory, generously donated by Mr. Enugu Dayanand Reddy, further strengthening the school’s learning infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, District Education Officer Mr. P. Ashok expressed his appreciation for the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust’s efforts in going beyond the provision of SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix with jaggery, which is already being served across Telangana, to now introducing cooked breakfast programmes in government schools. He highlighted that nutritious food plays a vital role in creating a healthy learning environment and supports value-based education.
Addressing the gathering, Trust District Coordinator Mr. V. Narasimha Reddy spoke about the importance of organic farming and expressed his happiness at initiating the breakfast programme.
Mr. E. Dhananjay Rao shared that Nizamabad district is among the districts where the cooked breakfast programme has been introduced and conveyed his joy at being part of the launch once again.
Under this collaborative initiative with the Telangana State Government, students are provided:
- SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix three days a week
- Khichdi rice on the remaining days
SaiSure Ragi contains all the necessary macro and micro-nutrients required for the healthy growth of students. The Khichdi meal comprises white rice, lentils (dal), a dehydrated vegetable blend, and a vitamin/micronutrient sachet, ensuring balanced nutrition. The programme is currently implemented in 34 government schools in Nizamabad district, benefiting approximately 3,500 students, with the support of Rise Against Hunger India.

Students expressed their happiness and satisfaction at the introduction of the breakfast programme in addition to fortified health mix, sharing that it has positively impacted their school experience.
With the continued support of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, Rise Against Hunger India, the Telangana State Government, and local education authorities, the Morning Breakfast Programme is set to create lasting impact by ensuring that children begin their school day nourished, healthy, and ready to learn.
