Meeting with VC of GITAM University, 19th April, 2022
Discussion on case study projects and creating awareness about these projects to their students working on social sector
In the meeting, Anand shared details about how On 19th April 2022, Mr. Anand K Kadali and Mrs. Padma Radhika, on behalf of the Annapoorna Trust, met the Vice Chancellor of GITAM University in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. GITAM University is a deemed to be Universities in India offering a variety of courses like engineering, science, management, medicine, pharmacy, architecture, law and others.
Both Anand and Padma Radhika are engineers and alumni of GITAM University. After pursuing corporate career for some time, both took a decision to work for the Trust’s nutrition program which is benefiting several children suffering from malnutrition. Anand K Kadali is presently a Trustee and Secretary of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust and Padma Radhika is working in Donor relations for the Trust.
In the meeting, Anand shared details about how the program started, how the services are expanding and various social initiatives taken by Annapoorna and Prashanthi Balamandira Trust in the fields of Nutrition, Education and Healthcare. Also, explored ways of collaborating with the students of the University by offering them to join as interns and to do their case studies on social impact assessment in sociology related projects with the Trust.
The Vice chancellor was proud of the fact that, both Anand & Radhika are alumni of GITAM University and now serving the nation in social sector.
They also met Prof. Y. Gouthama Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Campus Life) and discussed about exploring options to get connected to Alumni network and to reach out to them. Alumni of Gitam University would now be enterpreneurs, businessmen, employers or employees in various corporate companies serving in their own capacities across India and the world. Many like-minded individuals like Anand had left their promising corporate careers & took it upon themselves the imperative need of eradicating malnutrition prevalent in our country to make a difference where it matters. The purpose of meeting both VC & Pro VC of Gitam was to create a platform & get a stage set to create an awareness among the students and esp. the alumni to participate in these kinds of social initiatives which would give each individual an opportunity in getting engaged in upliftment of the rural folk & the downtrodden and at the same time give them self-satisfaction in being able to give back to society.
