Role of CSR in Viksit Bharat – Panel discussion on PSU, Private and Government Convergence Models
The Role of CSR in Viksit Bharat Conclave held on 7–8 March 2026 at Sathya Sai Grama brought together leaders from government, industry, and the development sector to explore how CSR can accelerate India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047 through collaboration, innovation, and sustainable impact.
Panel Session 6 explored PSU, Private and Government Convergence Models and was chaired by Mr T G Sathyanarayana, CEO, GTO Pay. The session brought together insights from Mr Sanjay Kashyap, Independent Director of GAIL; Dr Ramesh Chaveli, Additional General Manager, BEL; Mr Pawan Pandey, VP Brand and Product Marketing, Dainik Bhaskar Group and Mr SARAVANAN K S, CEO, S10 Academy





Key insights shared by the panel members during the discussion included:
🔹 Dr. Ramesh Chaveli (BEL) spoke about the importance of innovation, skill development, and value-based education in shaping a developed India. He noted that India has witnessed a strong shift in recent years toward practical learning, patents, and innovation-driven development, enabling the country to transition from a research-oriented mindset to a more innovation-led economy. He also emphasized that technological progress must go hand in hand with ethical and moral development, highlighting the importance of integrating human values, culture, and responsible technology into education and innovation ecosystems.
🔹 Mr. Pawan Pandey (Dainik Bhaskar Group) highlighted the power of media in driving behavioural change, sharing how initiatives like Ek Ped Ek Zindagi mobilized communities and partners to create large-scale environmental impact. He also highlighted the role of media in driving positive social change and shared Dainik Bhaskar’s unique initiative “No Negative Monday,” where the newspaper dedicates its Monday coverage to positive stories and impactful developments in society.
🔹 Mr. Sanjay Kashyap shared insights from the PSU perspective, explaining that public sector enterprises often play a crucial role as funding anchors for CSR initiatives while working closely with government priorities. He highlighted the potential for district-level CSR consortiums, where PSUs, private companies, NGOs, and local administration can come together to align priorities and implement impactful projects. Such collaborative platforms could enable better coordination, efficient resource allocation, and stronger implementation of government flagship initiatives, particularly in aspirational districts and underserved regions.
🔹 Mr. Saravanan K. S. (S10 Academy) emphasized the need for continuous skilling and upskilling, sharing how convergence with government and local communities helped expand skill development programs and create employment opportunities for youth.
The panel reinforced that collaboration between PSUs, private organizations, government institutions, and grassroots partners is key to accelerating India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat.
