‘Seeding the Future – Together with the Farmers’, 13th July 2025
Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust recently hosted a special gathering titled ‘Seeding the Future – Together with the Farmers’, bringing together over 600 Ragi farmers from the Subhiksha Organic Farmers Multistate Cooperative Society Ltd. in a celebration of sustainable agriculture and national service at Annapoorna Trust headquarters on 13th July 2025.
In a sacred offering, the farmers offered Ragi seeds to Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, a symbolic gesture of gratitude and unwavering commitment to nurturing the nation, just ahead of the sowing season.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Mr Ananda Aa Shri, Chairman of Subhiksha Organic Farmers, Masataka Fukuoka, Representative of Ag-Biotech and Akou, Farmer from Japan, Prof Ashok S Alur, Vice Chancellor, Kodagu University, Dr. M. Lakshmi Prasad, CEO, Bio We, Dr Jayachandra T B, Special Representative to New Delhi, Govt. of Karnataka and Shri Shri Guruparadeshi Kendra Swami ji, each commending the farmers for their tireless efforts and their role in uplifting both soil and society.
A key highlight of the day was the launch of the Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card, a vital healthcare initiative that will benefit 600 farmers through the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), ensuring those who nourish others are themselves nurtured with dignity.
As Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai expressed:
“Our farmers are the true backbone of the nation. Their sacrifices must never be forgotten, especially by the youth who must learn to honour and respect those who feed the country every single day.”
