IMPACT of providing Grocery Kits to needy tribal families in collaboration with RIST-PFC – Munger district – Phase III – Bihar

Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with ‘Rural India Supporting Trust’ (RIST) and ‘Partnerships For Change’ (PFC) has been reaching out to support the families of 15000 Government Mid-Day Meal (MDM) cooks. 


As a part of this relief programme during Phase-III of the project, 300 needy tribal families in Rataitha panchayat of Munger district received 1 Month dry ration kits on 24-Sept 2021.  


As a result of the Covid 19 pandemic that gripped the world, according to the World Bank report, overall poverty rate is expected to rise.  The lower strata of the society are facing the greatest impact due to loss of jobs or reduced income. As we embark on “post covid recovery” and “building back better”, Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with ‘Rural India Supporting Trust’ (RIST) and ‘Partnerships For Change’ (PFC) have come forward to the assistance of vulnerable populations like those of mid-day meal cooks, helpers & set the stage for lasting recovery. 



Each dry ration kit consists of 4kg of wheat flour, 4kg beaten rice, 2kg chana dal, 2kg chana, 1ltr cooking oil, 2kg sugar, 1ltr salt, 500gm soyabadi, muri 1.50kg.



With the blessings of almighty, volunteers of Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust successfully carried out the ration distribution program. Distribution took place in the presence of Sri. Mritunjay Pathak who is the Sarpanch of the Rataitha panchayat along with dignitaries Sri. Dilip Pathak & Sri. Dev Prakash. More than twenty-five rural well-wishers took part to oversee and monitor the relief programme happening at their remote village. They were very happy to see the happy faces among their villagers and had especially come to share joy with their neighbours on this occasion.


Beneficiaries who received the dry ration kits were very happy and considered it as a gift from God which had come to them through Annapoorna Trust & RIST foundation for the upcoming Jitiya festival.



Volunteers of Annapoorna Trust who were involved in procuring, planning, preparing of beneficiary list & successful completion of this project were Chandan Kumar, Kumar Anand, Neeraj Pathak, Prabhat Kumar, Nitish Kumar, Subhash Singh, Pappu Singh, Rupesh Kumar.
