Second wave of covid has affected  people of all walks of life & has hit hard without giving much notice. Mid-day meal cooks were the ones who have filled the stomachs of children in Govt. schools during pre-covid times. These cooks, labourers and their families were one of the first affected category of people rendering them without a job in hand. Helping the lower strata of society on the path of post covid recovery and assisting them in building back better, it became our responsibility and duty to first address their needs during this pandemic.

In Dindigul, distribution of grocery kits took place on 20-Sept at NPR Govt High school, Ayyampalayam in the presence of Lion’s club Rainbow Arimasangam members: Sri. R M Rajasekar-Charter President, Sri. N Senthil Kumar-President, Sri. R Muthu Kumaran & Sri. L Saravanan-secretary. Also present were Smt. Renuga Parimala-NPR School HM, Smt. P Susila-Asst HM, Sri. Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with ‘Rural India Supporting Trust’ (RIST) and ‘Partnerships For Change’ (PFC) have sponsored one-month dry ration kits for all the needy students’ family in NPR Govt. School. We at Sri Sathya Annapoorna Trust serve healthy and nutritious breakfast to more than 5,00,000 children in 6000+ schools across 17 States and 3 Union Territories in India. We are looking forward to starting our SaiSure multi-nutrient health mix distribution in Tamil Nadu as well. SaiSure has micro & macro nutrients along with necessary vitamins & minerals which are required for the proper upbringing of  children. This must be mixed in hot water or milk and served to children. This health mix enables them to focus on studies well. There is another variant of SaiSure with milk solids which can be consumed by mixing it with only hot water. We are currently in talks with the Government of Tamil Nadu to come up with a formal agreement. Currently we are providing one-month dry ration to the needy families who are severely affected by the COVID pandemic. We kindly request to collect the provisions and make effective use of it for you & your families. Would like to provide a small token of advice to all the students present here. Once you all grow up and get settled in life, you should also help others like what we are all doing today. Thank you.”

One of the beneficiaries spoke, “Due to COVID pandemic we underwent many difficulties, we did not have even two proper meals per day, our children were worst hit as they could not attend schools and missed the mid-day meal due to closure of schools. They had to depend on whatever was available to feed on at home. My husband and myself did not have any job from past two years due to COVID & had to depend on the kindness shown by others. Today these provisions provided to us is a life saver and many thanks to all who are providing food to us. We would never forget your benevolence; my wish is to make my children study well and do well in their life so that they do not suffer like us in future. Please help us to achieve this objective of our life. Thanks again.
