Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with Danirasa Foundation built A state-of-the-art kitchen to serve the poor in Chennai – 31st March 2020
A kitchen fitted with the latest equipment, made to a capacity for churning out at least 5000 meals per day, and this too for the underprivileged poor is the first of its kind in India. Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust takes care of its salaried employees and funds the meals that come out of this kitchen. Most importantly Danirasa foundation has been hugely responsible in managing and overseeing the quality and hygiene maintained on a daily basis.
This time in the month of March, the state government of Tamil Nadu represented by the Mafoi Foundation along with Danirasa foundation and Annapoorna Trust collaborated to bring freshly cooked hot nutritious meals for 1500 daily wage workers during the extended lock down imposed in Tamil Nadu. All this was conducted with safety measures in mind; protective face masks and disposable body suits for cooks and staff in the kitchen were mandatory.
