Karnataka looks to Annapoorna Trust’s SaiSure Health Mix for fighting child malnutrition in Yadgir and Raichur districts – June 2020
The Government of Karnataka, which has a MoU with Annapoorna Trust for providing SaiSure Health Mix, had reached out to the Trust to provide SaiSure for the identified malnourished children in Yadgir and Raichur districts, for which the Trust immediately provided the health mix to those suffering from SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition). Further, it is ensuring that the MAM (Moderate Acute Malnutrition) children are also provided with proper nutrition.
India has about 260 million school-going children. Of these, close to 160 million go to the government and government-aided schools. If nutrition intervention can be conducted at the school level itself, it can help improve the nutritional well-being of the children. Through Annapoorna Morning Nutrition Program, the volunteers are working towards ‘Building the Nation through Nutrition.’
