A New Milestone: Morning Nutrition Programme Launched in Ladakh UT

On 11th November, the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust marked another significant milestone with the launch of its Morning Nutrition Programme across 118 Anganwadi centres in the Union Territory of Ladakh, benefitting 1,000 children.

 

Under this initiative, children will now receive SaiSure Malt Multi-Nutrient Health Mix with milk powder six days a week. The supplement includes 5 gms of SaiSure mixed with 10 gms of milk powder, served as part of their daily morning nutrition. SaiSure is a scientifically formulated nutritional supplement designed to support holistic physical and cognitive development in growing children.

  • Ms. Tsering Youtol – Child Development Project Officer

Programme Highlights

 

Ms. Kunzes Angmo, Director, WCD, thanked Annapoorna Trust for this valuable initiative and expressed interest in expanding the programme further. She noted that SaiSure contains essential macro and micronutrients, making it a highly beneficial supplement for the holistic development of children. The Women & Child Department looks forward to continued collaboration with the Trust.

 

Ms. Youtol, CDPO addressed the gathering, expressing her happiness that Annapoorna Trust—already present across 25 states and 4 Union Territories—had now extended its nutrition intervention to Ladakh.

 

Mr. Santosh Allath shared the journey of Annapoorna Trust, which began in 2012 by serving 50 children, and now reaches over 10 million children across India. He explained how SaiSure bridges common nutrient gaps by providing essential vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients, improving energy levels, attentiveness, physical growth, and overall well-being. Better nutrition, he emphasized, directly contributes to improved health and academic outcomes.

 

All officials present conveyed their appreciation and assured full support for strengthening child nutrition in the region.
