GAIL India Ltd. and Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust Unite to Combat Child Malnutrition in Chitradurga, Karnataka
GAIL (India) Limited is India’s Largest Natural Gas Company, having a significant presence in natural gas transmission, marketing and processing, LPG transmission, petrochemicals, City Gas and E&P.
CSR interventions from GAIL have seven focus areas which come under GAIL Hriday. GAIL remains committed towards taking up CSR projects that benefit the communities in & around its work centres, in enhancing the quality of life & economic well‐being of the local populace.
In a significant step towards addressing child malnutrition, Annapoorna Trust, in partnership with GAIL India Ltd. launched the Morning Nutrition Program on 3rd March 2025 in 6 Taluks namely — Challakere, Chitradurga, Hiriyur, Holalkere, Hosadurga & Molakalmuru taluks in the Chitradurga District, Karnataka.
The initiative will help provide 1,40,000 children across the district with SaiSure Millet (Ragi) Multi-Nutrient Health Mix, served along with government-sponsored milk.
The launch event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including:
• Sri Shaligram Mowar, Deputy Director, GAIL
• Sri PSV Subba Rao, Executive Director (Southern Region, GAIL)
• Sri R Damodaran, General Manager
• Sri Sivadasan K, Deputy General Manager
Government officials, including BEO Sri Nagabhushan and ADPI Sri Gururaj, were also present, further strengthening the collaboration. Annapoorna Trust was represented by Sri Santosh Allath – National Manager, Sri Rajiv – Manager, Operations, Sri Santhosh NK – Executive Operation.
