Morning Nutrition Program Expands in Jogulamba Gadwal, Telangana

Nestled in the southern part of Telangana, where the borders of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka meet, lies Jogulamba Gadwal—a land rich in history yet burdened by challenges. Known for its ancient Jogulamba Temple, one of the revered Shakti Peethas, the district holds immense cultural significance.

Jogulamba Gadwal is among the 9 most backward districts in Telangana. According to the state’s District Development Index, it ranks the lowest, with a score of just 0.31. The numbers tell a difficult story—low literacy rates, minimal industrial growth, and meagre per capita income paint a picture of a region struggling to keep pace with progress.

In a significant step towards enhancing student nutrition, the Morning Nutrition Program was successfully launched on the 21st of February 2025 by the Annapoorna Trust.

The Collector & District Magistrate of Jogulamba Gadwal, Shri Santhosh B.M., IAS, has proactively partnered with the CSR team to drive meaningful initiatives. This effort has been strengthened by the support of Ms. Archana Suresh, Director of T-SIG (Telangana Social Impact Group) – CSR Wing, Telangana Government, Mr. Enaish from Inspire Brands, and Annapoorna Trust as the implementation partner, all working together toward this important cause.

With the support of our Corporate Partner INSPIRE, the initiative currently benefits 3,286 students daily across 10 schools in Ghattu Mandal, providing them with essential chikkis over a period of 58 days. This additional health supplement will provide a boost along with Fortified Ragi Jawa being served at all schools in Telangana state.

As part of the program’s expansion, the CSR team also visited ZP High School in Ghattu Mandal to oversee its progress. A key highlight of this initiative is the introduction of Millet Chikki, a high-nutrition snack designed to support students’ growth and overall well-being.

The inaugural event witnessed the participation of the District Education Officer of Jogulamba Gadwal, who commended the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders. Additionally, the MPDO, MEO, and ABF recognized and felicitated the CSR team for their valuable contributions to the program.

With such proactive measures, the Morning Nutrition Program continues to make a meaningful impact, ensuring that students receive the essential nutrients they need for a healthier and brighter future.
