In 2024-25 Credit Access Grameen foundation have partnered with the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust and the Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) to combat malnutrition among children. Launched in October 2024, the program has garnered widespread appreciation from Women & Child Development officials, Child Development Project Officers, Anganwadi workers, and parents.

On 30th Jan 2025, Annapoorna Trust officials along with Credit Access Grameen foundation officials made visits to anganwadi centres in Chamarajanagar & other regions of the state. This is an ongoing initiative to get direct feedback from recipients. Vinoda TN – Program Manager at CAIF had joined the event along with officials from Chamarajanagar. Annapoorna Trust was represented by Sai Bhaskara – Manager – CSR and Operations (Karnataka) along with executives Santhosh N K & Arvind Kumar K.

Women & Child Development department were appreciative of the work & effort towards uplifting the nutrient quotient among malnutrition children. WCD Department Directors, DDPI, CDPO’s have received good feedback from Anganwadi workers with regards to SaiSure Fortified health mix being given to children on a regular basis.

Manjunath, Deputy Director of WCD in Chamarajanagar district, acknowledges the impact of the initiative, stating:

“We are appreciative of the fact that SaiSure Fortified Health Mix is being provided free of cost to SAM & MAM children aged 3 to 6 over the last four months. The daily intake of this health mix plays a crucial role in their overall development. Children consume it eagerly, and parents are equally satisfied. This easy-to-use, delicious, and nutritious supplement has shown remarkable benefits. Anganwadi workers in our district have observed significant physical and cognitive improvements in the children. We sincerely request the expansion of this service to other Anganwadi children as well. On behalf of the department, Anganwadi workers, parents, and children, I extend my gratitude to Credit Access India Foundation and Annapoorna Trust.”

Similarly, Devakka Muradi, an Anganwadi worker from the 19th centre in Navalgund taluk, Dharwad district, shares her observations:

“The SaiSure Fortified Health Mix is packed with essential nutrients that support child growth. SAM children have shown noticeable improvements in their weight. Previously, many children lacked an appetite. However, within just 2 to 3 days of consuming SaiSure, they began requesting the supplement themselves and started eating more food. This product, with its appealing aroma and taste, has been highly effective. In addition to weight gain, children’s hunger levels have improved significantly. Parents are noticing the difference and inquiring about what is being provided at the centres since their children now eat well at home too. This noble intervention is bridging the nutritional gap, transforming malnourished children into healthy ones.”
