Relaunch of SaiSure Multi Nutrient health mix in Mandya district, 19th December
On 19th December 2022, the re-launch of SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix post-COVID pandemic was held at Maradevanahalli village, Marachakanahalli grama panchayat in Mandya district. A total of 860 children in 15 schools will receive the SaiSure Health drink.
Previously, SaiSure was provided to children in schools around the Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam campus (located in Maradevarahalli, Mandya district) before the COVID pandemic. Now with this relaunch, 6 government schools comprising of 200 children are provided SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix. Milk is provided by the government under the Ksheera Bhagya Scheme.
SaiSure is a multi-nutrient supplement, a malt-based composition for pregnant women, toddlers, preschool, and school children. It meets the protein, vitamin, and mineral requirements and is designed to meet 50% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of most of the Micro-Nutrients. It is an example of Annapoorna trust adding value to the Ksheera Bhagya scheme of the Government of Karnataka, where the government provides milk to children, while Annapoorna trust adds the nutritional element in the form of the health mix. The tasty and highly nutritious SaiSure health mix augments the milk provided by the government to the school children in the morning making it a wholesome drink.
The event was held in the presence of Sri C S Puttaraju – MLA of Melukote. From Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam, Sri Jayaramareddy – Secretary and Founding member, Sri Rajashekar – Chairman, and Sri Jeevan – Vice Chairman, were present. Also present were several members of Gram Panchayat, senior citizens, school children, and staff.
Addressing the gathering, Sri C S Puttaraju – MLA of Melukote spoke about how treatment for any illness was through home remedies in the olden times. He said the responsibility of the physical and mental well-being of children, who are future citizens of the country, lies on all of us. Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, which has taken this responsibility performing selfless activities around the country, is highly appreciable. Stressing the importance of nutrition for pregnant mothers and growing children, he explained SaiSure Multi Nutrient Health Mix is a health powder providing vital nutrients and micronutrients acting as a wholesome meal in itself. ‘Collaborating with the government, the Trust has reached the far corners of the country to provide Nutrition to the children. Reaching our village, Marachakanahalli, by the Trust, is our fortune!’ he said.
