Annapoorna Morning Nutrition commences at Chikkaballapur and Hubballi districts – June 2018
As the Government schools in Chikkaballapur & Hubballi districts in Karnataka reopened for the new academic year, Annapoorna Trust volunteers started serving daily nutritious breakfast for the school children. Around 8500 school children across 175+ schools daily receive breakfast such as Avalakki bath, Pongal, Vegetable Upma, Rice bath, etc., which helps keep the children free from hunger during the school hours.
With the prompt help and guidance from the Block Education Officer (BEO), Annapoorna Trust had taken permission for the flagship breakfast programme in Government School No 6 in Hubballi during March 2018. The Trust volunteers from Hubballi started serving breakfast from this academic year to 120 children in this Govt. School No. 6 in Janata Bazaar area of Hubballi. Annapoorna Trust has now started to expand its presence in Hubballi-Dharwad region as well.
