The 16th of July was a special day in the annals of the Annapoorna Breakfast Programme. A special conclave was held with individuals and institutions who have been supporting Annapoorna programme in various ways.
The real joy of festivals is in the coming together of family and friends. It wasn’t any different this Holi at the JP Nagar (Bangalore) breakfast centre, which saw the congregation of volunteers and children.
Annapoorna Breakfast program is expanding in Puducherry. It is serving cookies to over 24,000 school-going children in Puducherry and Karaikal in a joint collaboration with the State Government. Children love dunking their cookies in the milk. Annapoorna Team derives great pleasure from interaction with children, Politicians and school authorities.
The Programme involves supporting the existing government healthcare system, where specific extra need is required. So, these activities are taken in conjunction with District Health Officials, and will benefit many villages currently being covered by Annapoorna.
The nutrition is in the form of “SaiSure” nutrition supplement added to the milk, presented to the child every morning, after school prayer at the school premises.
