Morning Nutrition Launch at Arikkambed Government High School, Tamil Nadu

The Morning Nutrition Programme was formally launched on 19 December at Arikkambed Government High School, Thiruvallur District, Chennai, benefitting 450 students.

The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA Mr. Sudharshanam, Panchayat President Mr. Prabhakaran, Headmistress Ms. Baby Geeta, and Former Headmaster Mr. Jayaraman.
Annapoorna Trust was represented by Mr. Santhosh Allath (National Manager – Operations) and Mr. Saravanan T (Manager – Operations, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry).

The welcome address was delivered by HM Ms. Baby Geeta, who introduced the dignitaries and highlighted the importance of nutrition in improving student attendance and learning outcomes.

Mr. Pushkar Raghavan shared insights into the Trust’s mission of serving morning nutrition to one crore children across India, and expressed gratitude to the Namma School Namma Ooru Palli Foundation for enabling the first cooked-meal programme in Chennai. He also thanked the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and appealed for extending permission to more government schools.

The Hon’ble MLA Mr. Sudharshanam appreciated the initiative, briefed students on various Tamil Nadu Government education schemes, and marked the launch by personally serving breakfast to the students, reinforcing the spirit of care and leadership.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress, marking a meaningful step towards ensuring that no child begins the school day hungry.
