Launch of SaiSure Nutrition for SAM & MAM Children in Chikkaballapur District in partnership with Persistent Foundation

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust and Persistent Foundation have joined hands in a sustained partnership since 2022 to combat child malnutrition in Karnataka, delivering targeted nutritional support through the SaiSure health supplement to vulnerable SAM and MAM children.

 

The launch of the SaiSure nutritional supplement project for SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition) and MAM (Moderate Acute Malnutrition) children in Chikkaballapur district took place over four days at different locations from October 6 to October 9, 2025. This initiative is a collaboration between Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust and Persistent Foundation to provide targeted nutrition support to malnourished children in the district. The project will distribute four 500g pouches of SaiSure Choco Malt per child over six months (October 2025 to March 2026).

The events were held at these locations and dates with key officials present:

 

  1. October 6, 2025 – Chintamani Taluk: Officials including Sri Mahesh Babu (Child Development Project Officer) and Dr. Bassappa Manjesh (Taluk Health Officer) highlighted the supplement’s rich vitamin and mineral content and positively reviewed the improvements seen in children’s health due to SaiSure.
  2. October 7, 2025 – Vatadahosahalli Anganwadi Kendra-1, Gowribidnur Taluk: Sri Ravi Kumar and other officials noted significant reductions in SAM and MAM children and measurable improvements in height and weight. Anganwadi teachers committed to monitoring progress through home visits.
  3. October 8, 2025 – Two simultaneous launches at Nandi Anganwadi Kendra-1 (Chikkaballapura Taluk) and Samudaya Bhavan, Beechaganahalli (Gudibande Taluk): Officials educated mothers on SaiSure’s benefits and proper usage. Health and child welfare officers emphasized nutrition education and maternal-child health issues.
  4. October 9, 2025 – Sidlaghatta and Bagepalli Taluks: Events at Sthree Shakti Bhavan, Sidlaghatta, and Devaragudipalli Anganwadi Kendra-B, Bagepalli Taluk with officials praising the partnership’s impact and encouraging continued community support.

All the launch events included distribution and tasting of SaiSure nutritional drink to children and mothers, reinforcing awareness and support. This collaborative initiative exemplifies the profound impact of community-driven efforts combined with institutional support, significantly improving the nutritional status and health of children in Chikkaballapur district. With the involvement of government departments, Anganwadi workers, and local communities, this program continues to foster healthier futures by ensuring consistent, scientifically formulated nutrition reaches those most in need. The partnership strengthens grassroots nutrition intervention and sets a replicable model for tackling malnutrition effectively in rural India.
