Honouring Share Our Strength – A Global Champion Against Child Hunger

At the One World One Family – World Cultural Festival 2025, the CSR Circle of Honour was presented to Share Our Strength, represented by its Founder & Executive Chair, Mr. Billy Shore — the visionary behind the renowned No Kid Hungry campaign in the United States.

Founded in 1984 in Washington, D.C., Share Our Strength leads the No Kid Hungry movement, fighting childhood hunger through partnerships, education, and community programmes. In collaboration with the Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, the organisation strengthens India’s Morning Nutrition Programme, ensuring that millions of schoolchildren receive nutritious meals every day.

During his acceptance of the honour, Mr. Billy Shore delivered a heartfelt and transformative address. Speaking about his first visit to Sathya Sai Grama, he reflected on the power of bearing witness — the ability to truly see, feel, and be changed by what we experience. “My colleagues and I are so inspired by everything that we have seen here,” he said. “Our job is to go back to the U.S. and bring more support to this important work, to help people understand that ‘One World, One Family’ is something that can actually come to pass.”

Mr. Shore shared touching stories from his decades-long journey at Share Our Strength, reminding everyone that the heart of true service lies in respecting the dignity of every human being we serve. He emphasized that each of us has a strength to share — whether through resources, skills, or compassion — and the power to bear witness, to be moved and transformed by acts of love and service.

He closed his speech with a powerful message of urgency and purpose, quoting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

“In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is the thief of time. The tide in the affairs of men and women does not remain at flood — it ebbs.”
