Morning Nutrition Support for Tribal Children at Viveka Girijana Educational Center, Hosahalli

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM), continues since 2023, to make a meaningful difference in the lives of tribal children by providing SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix every morning at the Viveka Girijana Educational Center (VGEC), Hosahalli.

Founded in 1988 with just 28 children in a small shed in Brahmagiri, the Viveka Girijana Educational Center has today grown into a sprawling residential school on the edge of Bandipur National Park, nurturing and educating more than 560 tribal children from across Karnataka. The school especially emphasizes the education of tribal girls, offering them a safe, value-based, and child-centered learning environment from Montessori up to Grade 10. Many alumni have gone on to become role models in their communities, bringing pride and transformation back to their villages.

Currently, 587 students are enrolled in the school for the academic year 2025–26. Teachers and staff have observed a significant rise in student attendance and active participation ever since the introduction of the SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient Health Mix. This fortified nutrition not only keeps children physically strong and mentally alert but also enables them to engage more meaningfully in their learning journey.

Kumar – Director at Viveka Girijana Educational Center expressed deep gratitude to Annapoorna Trust, stating:

“This program, started with the noble vision that no child should go to school hungry, has been immensely helpful. Your continuous cooperation has contributed to the holistic growth of our school and the well-being of our children. We sincerely appreciate this highly commendable initiative.”

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Sri Ashok Nanjappa, a philanthropist and businessman, for his generous support in making this initiative possible. His commitment has been instrumental in nourishing and empowering the lives of tribal children.

Through such partnerships, Annapoorna Trust and SVYM reaffirm their shared vision of building a New India by empowering tribal communities through health, education, and nutrition — ensuring that no child is left behind.
