Together for Tomorrow: KIAF and Annapoorna Trust Continue Their Mission Nourishing Children’s Future

Every great journey begins with a strong takeoff—and for thousands of young children in rural Karnataka, that takeoff starts with a nutritious morning meal and a heart full of hope.
Kempegowda International Airport Foundation (KIAF), a subsidiary of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has been playing the role of a steady pilot—guiding communities toward upliftment and sustainable development.
KIAF’s has been empowering communities and their work spans five flagship initiatives in Education, Health, Integrated Development, Water & Sanitation, and Conservation of Culture & Heritage.
Among its most impactful and heartfelt initiatives is its partnership with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, a collaboration that has been fueling young minds since 2018.

Partnership going strong since 2018
The partnership between Annapoorna Trust and BIAL began in early 2018 with the distribution of health biscuits to students in over 110 government schools. Recognizing the potential to create deeper impact, the collaboration quickly evolved into a more structured breakfast program, eventually reaching 60–70 government schools in the Devanahalli region.
During the academic year 2023–24, this initiative ensured that 1,074 children across several government schools in Devanahalli received a healthy breakfast every morning. This consistent effort has not only contributed to better nutrition but also improved school attendance and attentiveness among students.

The Road Ahead: 2025–2026 Partnership Proposal
Building on the success of previous years, KIAF has further strengthened its partnership with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust by extending support to an additional 1,000 (approx.) school-going children.
The proposed model will continue to serve freshly cooked meals in government schools with a menu including – Avalaki, Rice Pongal, Vegetable Upma, Vegetable Rice Bath, Lemon Rice, Ragi Jaggery Ganji (Saisure Fortified Ragi Mix) to Schools in rural areas of Karnataka.
This year, the total number of children will increase to 2750 in the Karnataka region.
Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to Bangalore International Airport Ltd. and Kempegowda International Airport Foundation for their unwavering support and commitment to enhancing the lives of the children around the Bangalore Airport region.
