Dr.Shalini Rajneesh
Encouraging Support for Expanding Child Nutrition Initiatives Across Karnataka
Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust represented by Trustees – Anand Kadali, Jaiprakash Tallam &Santosh Allath were deeply humbled during the recent interaction with Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, IAS, Chief Secretary of Karnataka, who has been supporting and guiding our nutrition initiatives for nearly a decade. Speaking about SaiSure, the micronutrient supplement provided to children through our programs, she beautifully remarked that it is akin to prasadam — a gift of nourishment offered with compassion. She noted that the small 5-gram serving of SaiSure, added to the milk powder provided under the Government of Karnataka’s Ksheera Bhagya Scheme, is creating meaningful nutritional impact among children across the state. What resonated deeply was her observation that the strength of the initiative lies not merely in the product, but in the spirit of selfless service and dedication behind it at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli.
During the meeting, discussions were also held regarding the possible expansion of nutrition interventions to the Anganwadi sector across Karnataka, potentially benefiting nearly 18 lakh children through a collaborative fortified ragi model. Dr. Shalini Rajneesh expressed keen interest in the initiative and conveyed her intention to brief the Hon’ble Chief Minister on the impact and scale of the work carried out by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust. We also had constructive discussions with officials from the Finance and Education Departments regarding the continuation and strengthening of current projects. Such encouragement from senior government leadership is both inspiring and motivating as we continue working towards ensuring that every child receives the nutrition they deserve.
