Colours of Life!! It is the Festival of Colours! A festival that children love and look forward to! And, Annapoorna volunteers from JP Nagar in Bengaluru took this opportunity to celebrate and make the day memorable for our children. 15 employees from Oracle, despite being on a working day, surprised the 50 Annapoorna children in the morning with Holi colors. After a sumptuous Annapoorna breakfast, the children jumped and played in excitement with the organic colors, making everyone’s day literally colorful! Annapoorna wishes all volunteers and well wishers a very happy Holi! May Annapoorna continue to make every child’s life colorful!

For those of us who would like to have the translation of the post, it’s as follows: ” Just hearing the name “Annapoorna” makes the stomach feel full!! Many who visit the holy Kasi bring back with them, the holy idol of the Primordial Kasi Annapoorna Devi. They install and perform puja to the idol. If that’s the case, a voluntary organization named “Annapoorna”, operating with the inspiration of Sathya Sai Baba, is going to schools and serving breakfast to more than 1 Lakh children. The members of this organization are running this programme like a revolution, across 11 states including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala etc. Most of the volunteers in this organization are working professionals, doctors, IT etc. Nelson Mandela had said, “Education is the only weapon to change the world”. The Annapoorna Trust started their work with the belief that along with education, studying children should also receive proper, healthy, nutritious food. The chairman of this Trust is Sri Narasimhachari Sampath. He is a retired Indian Government official from the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR). Valentines, with a difference It’s not often we hear of corporates dedicating an entire day to celebrate Valentines Day. But MicroFocus, a multinational IT major did. The company celebrated its annual Valentines Day with the students of Annapoorna Breakfast Programme from the Government Higher Primary School, Doddabele. The children visited their office and spent the day there interacting with the employees. They put up a dance ballet presentation later in the day and ended the day with a group picture. #Valentines Day #MicroFocus #Annapoorna
