Assam Nutrition Mission - Manutrition Eradication

Annapoorna Trust, a leading top nutrition NGO in Assam, currently has its presence in 25 states and 4 Union Territories across India. Among them, Assam is preparing for the official launch of the Annapoorna Morning Nutrition Program after a successful initial implementation phase in January 2025, which reached 4.25 lakh government school children across all 34 districts. The upcoming expansion is supported by Samagra Shiksha Assam, the state’s flagship initiative to promote inclusive education. Under this program, children will be served a fortified millet-based health drink SaiSure, sweetened with jaggery, aimed at addressing both morning hunger and hidden hunger in Assam to support their health and learning outcomes and combat malnutrition.
SaiSure is a scientifically formulated health mix that provides essential micronutrients and macronutrients to support the growth and development of children. Designed by health experts and distributed freely by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust, this powerful supplement is a key component of our morning nutrition program for school children across rural India. This not only helps address “hidden hunger” but also contributes to improved attendance, focus, and academic performance in school
