Grocery kits distribution in Madhugiri taluk​ in Tumkur

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust is reaching out with grocery kits to 2605 needy families of rural government school cooks in Tumkur district of Karnataka, in particular with the help of Sri Ramakrishna Sevashrama of Pavagada, in order to help the families, whose livelihoods are affected by the pandemic.

As a part of the relief activity in Tumkur, earlier in the day on 11th June, the team distributed grocery kits to 694 families of government school cooks of Madhugiri taluk in Tumkur. This was done in the presence of honourable MLA Sri M. V. Veerabhadraiah.

Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with ‘Rural India Supporting Trust’ (RIST) and ‘Partnerships For Change’ (PFC) has been reaching out to a total of 15,000 needy families of mid-day meal cooks of government schools in several states of rural India, which is now reeling under the second wave of COVID-19.

The grocery kits contain 10kg of rice, 2kg of wheat flour, 1 kg of toor dal, 1kg channa dal, 1litre cooking oil, 2kg of sugar, 1kg of salt, vermicelli, along with spices such as chilli powder, jeera, mustard and turmeric.
