Launch of SaiSure Millet (Ragi) Morning Nutrition in Alike, 5th April 2024

On 5th April 2024, SaiSure Millet (Ragi) free Morning Nutrition was launched in the Dakshina Kannada Upper Primary School Ground, Kallajera, Alike.

 

Over a month earlier, on 22nd February 2024, the momentous launch of Free Morning Nutrition – SaiSure Millet (Ragi) Multi Nutrient Health mix with milk, for the entire state of Karnataka took place in Vidhana Soudha in the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister, Honourable Education Minister, and our Revered Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai. SaiSure Ragi health mix is now being served with the government sponsored milk to 5.56 million children across all 53,000 schools in the state.

 

A formal launch of this Morning Nutrition program was held in Alike as well. Several dignitaries who were part of this event were Sri. Mohandas Paramahamsa Swami ji of Sri Dhama Manila, Sri Mittalike Chandranath Alva (Eminent Co-operative Member, Alike), and Mr. Ibrahim Musliyar (Religious leader, Alike).

Madhusudan Naik – Retired Principal, Sri Sathya Sai Ananya Niketanam Gurukulam, Udupi.

 

At the event, Sri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji spoke about the upcoming educational institution of Sri Sathya Sai University of Human Excellence, in Alike for UG & PG students and the Healthcare hospital offered free to the public. This will be inaugurated on 30th Nov 2026, commemorating the centenary anniversary of Revered Madiyala Narayana Bhat, who was a visionary, patriot, social worker, and a spiritual seeker who had nurtured an aspiration to set up free schools all over Karnataka beginning from Alike and Muddenahalli.

Sri K Sanjeev Shetty spoke about the importance of human values and said that it is only due to the Divine power and energy sufficed with love, that such great feats of serving the people are possible.

 

Sri G M Ananthamurthy spoke about revered Sri Madiyala Narayana Bhat who had dreamt and worked towards building educational institutions. He said that today, it has grown largely comprising 28 educational institutions in Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.

 

Sri Madhusudan Naik spoke about Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai’s Global mission of Nutrition, Education, and Healthcare. He said, what started as a Morning Nutrition program with just 50 children in 2012 on the outskirts of Bengaluru city has today expanded to serving 9 million children in 25 states and 4 union territories.

 

Several teachers from nearby schools participated in the event. Sarees were distributed to school cooks as a token of appreciation for their dedication and commitment to their work. SaiSure Ragi Multi Nutrient health mix was served with milk to the children assembled at the event. They relished and enjoyed the taste.

 

It is a collective responsibility of Annapoorna Trust, school staff, school cooks, education department, corporates, and society as a whole, to come forward to take care of our children in their overall healthy development, who are the torchbearers of the future of the nation.
