Nutrition Intervention for SAM & MAM children in Siddipet & Ranga Reddy districts – Telangana, July 2022

During the month of June 2002, second phase of Nutrition Intervention for SAM & MAM children started in Bagepalli & Gowribidanur taluks of Chikkaballapur district in Karnataka. On similar lines about a month later, a parallel project for SAM & MAM children commenced on 21st July 2022 in Siddipet District & on 22nd July 2022 in Ranga Reddy district. Details of the project is as shown below:

The Government of India along with the State Governments has planned and propagated various initiatives (called as the Poshan Abhiyaan program) to address the malnutrition gap which is a major concern in the country. Despite state government having schemes to tackle malnutrition, much is to be done. Annapoorna Trust & Persistent foundation have been at the forefront in joining hands with the state government for enabling a healthier society, especially in the rural areas.

 

Each child in the age group 3-6 will be given SaiSure multi nutrient health mix jar every 2 months. Anganwadi teachers guide the parents with regards to proper usage of health mix.

 

Launch of the event at Siddipet took place on 21st July 2022 at 23rd ward of Subhash Nagar represented by 10th Ward councillor Ms. Bingi Bhagya Laxmi, CDPO Ms. Rama Devi, project supervisors & anganwadi teachers. On similar lines, Ranga Reddy district launch took place on 22nd July 2022 at MLA’s Gandhi camp office in the presence of Serilingampally MLA Mr. Arekapudi Gandhi, CDPO Ms. G Lakshmi Bai, project supervisors & anganwadi teachers. Annapoorna Trust was represented by Mr. Dhananjay Rao Ejapu – Manager in Marketing & Digital communication and members of operations team Kushal & Naresh.

 

Subsequently on 09th Aug 2022, Persistent foundation CSR team lead by Ms. Yogita Apte – Lead CSR & executives Ms. Mahalakshmi K & Ms. Pooja Kulkarni visited Shivrampally anganwadi centre and also Padmashalipuram anganwadi centre along with Mr. Dhananjay from Annapoorna Trust. They were keen to see the on-ground implementation of this project and also to take feedback from Anganwadi teachers for future improvements or changes with regards to implementation of the project.
