Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust brings in a 2nd round of relief in the District of Virudhunagar in the state of Tamil Nadu during the month of May 2020

The families of 400 children studying across various National Child Labour Project schools in Virudhanagar in the state of Tamil Nadu were recipients of Grocery kits. The first phase of distribution had been completed in the preceding months. On the 14th of May the second phase had begun. The toll of a single lock down can be devastating with jobs gone and thereafter, no wages and no food. Annapoorna Trust worked its way around the situation by lending a helping hand. Dry food grains like rice, lentils, pulses, cooking oil, salt, turmeric, and wheat flour was their only flicker of hope. There was a mass distribution of these provisions. With hunger at bay, hygiene was Annapoorna Trust’s next concern, especially during covid. This inspired Annapoorna Trust volunteers to give them bathing soaps and detergents to help keep clean.
