Launch of Morning Nutrition for 3635 children in 22 schools in Nizamabad, Telangana – 1st August 2022

On 1st August 2022, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust launched Morning Nutrition Programme in Nizamabad district, Telangana benefiting 3635 children spread across 22 schools. The children would be provided with cooked breakfast for 3 days and Raagi Cereals Health Drink for the rest of the 3 days in the week.

According to the latest National Family Health Survey (2019-21), high levels of malnutrition with anaemia is prevalent amongst children. It is a known fact that a diet with good nutrition is essential for a healthy mind and body. Good health also results in good immunity and good lifestyle. Children are considered as supreme assets of the nation. The future of a nation rests on healthy, protected, educated and well-developed children. In line with this, the volunteers of Annapoorna Trust relentlessly work towards achieving zero hunger and reducing malnutrition.

 

Morning Nutrition launch event was organized on 1st August 2022 in Zilla Parishad High School, Mosra in Nizamabad district in the presence of several dignitaries:

In the launch event, Mr Sainapuram Sumalatha Ram Reddy, Sarpanch, Mosra, addressed the gathering and expressed their gratitude to the Trust for their interest taken in these service initiatives.

 

Mr. Pitla Uma Sriramulu, MPP, Mosra, also appreciated the Trust for providing breakfast to more than 400 children which he mentioned as ‘a big task coming forward with a big heart.’

Shri Lakshmi Kanth Rao who is the Chairman, GHM ZPHS, Mosra said the children come to school every day from 9 different villages without having breakfast and thanked the Trust for providing Morning Nutrition which fills the children’s stomachs. 

 

Mr. Gutpa Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, ZPTC, Mosra, appreciated the Trust for providing breakfast every day to the children and quoted Swami Vivekananda’s words about serving the poor and satisfying their hunger is like worship to God as an offering to God. He also said the students will be motivated to study well and progress in their studies. He thanked the couple, Mr. Ranga Rao and Mrs. Anusuya Devi, for getting the dining room built and further thanked the Trust for giving the privilege of serving.

 

Mr. Narasimha Reddy, District Coordinator of Annapoorna Trust, said the students in this school are disciplined and hard-working. He further said service is the path shown by Sri Sathya Sai Baba and while advising the children that human life is given by God for benevolence, he motivated all to participate in service activities in their own ways possible.
