The Nellore relief camp in collaboration with Annapoorna & PBMT Trust’s – 22nd April 2020

Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust prepared covid relief packages. These were distributed to underprivileged needy families within Nellore, in Aravapalem, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Government schools in this area were receiving breakfast nutrition from Annapoorna Trust till the pandemic hit and schools were ordered shut. Teachers helped to locate and identify homes of these children who were in dire need of help. The relief packages consisting of all essentials from dry food grains to spices were received with much gratitude.

Nellore was being marked as a red zone region during the month of April while all other regions saw considerably less cases of covid. Hence the Government had ordered a strict lock down in Nellore district with 2 hours of relief from 7am to 9am when some amount of movement was allowed. During which time Annapoorna along with Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust, swiftly and efficiently distributed daily groceries to poor, needy families. This service certainly had its own set of challenges.
