Friday saw the coming together of Annapoorna, Government officials and community to start the breakfast programme for the 150 children of Government Primary School Yedira. The villagers had approached us earlier bringing to our notice the plight of their children, most of whom would miss breakfast every morning simply because they could not afford it….
We are happy to share with you that starting today Annapoorna would be serving breakfast in the 12th school in the state of Haryana. A total of 1850 children now receive a healthy plateful of breakfast every morning.
How is good work rewarded? Well, we believe with more work! After two years of conducting the breakfast programme in Vizag, we reached out to the Mandal Education Officer and Staff from over 80 Government schools in Bheemunipatnam (Visakahaptnam Rural, Andhra Pradesh) in an effort to start the programme in more schools.
