BigBasket, a large online grocer headquartered in Bengaluru, India, is currently owned by Tata Digital. Founded in October 2011 as a tech startup, BigBasket brings the convenience of groceries and home essentials delivered to the doorstep and operates in more than 30 cities in India.

Since its inception in 2011, BigBasket has made efforts to contribute to a more sustainable world by reducing its environmental footprint by making several green decisions like the usage of electric vehicles, reusable packaging materials, wet and dry waste management, solar power generation, support for organic farmers, energy efficient cooling, and rainwater harvesting. To enhance its social impact, BigBasket helps spread awareness of the goodness of giving, focusing on areas like improving nutrition in deprived communities, care for water resources, air cleansing, rural development, women empowerment, quality education, and many more.

BigBasket has provided a platform for donations, both in cash and in-kind, to support various causes such as eradicating hunger, addressing the acute water crisis, reducing poverty, empowering through education, providing free meals to underprivileged elderly and intellectually challenged children, gifting grocery kits to the needy.

From the beginning of the year 2023, BigBasket has supported Annapoorna Trust towards crowdfunding across India. The contributions made by donors is supporting Morning Nutrition served to the government school-going children.
